Research
My major research interest lies in machine learning and decision-making. Machine Learning has revolutionized the way humans interact with technology. As more and more services integrate smart algorithms, the services become more and more personalized.
There are four main areas of machine learning (1) supervised learning, where an agent learns from pre-labelled data. Classification and Regression are widely known examples of supervised learning. (2) unsupervised learning, where the agent is given data with no labels and it tries to make sense from the data. Clustering is a widely known example of unsupervised learning. (3) transfer learning, where an agent exploits the knowledge gained from previous generalized tasks to apply to a specific task. (4) reinforcement learning, where an agent is allowed to run in real time and is rewarded positively or negatively based on the decisions it takes. A self driving car is an example of reinforcement learning. The most fascinating use of machine learning and it’s related domains can be seen in computer vision, natural language processing and bioinformatics, to name a few. I am still exploring the domain to find my area of interest for research.
